DS Smith Packaging will reap €100m of annual cost savings and €130m in cash savings expected from its integration of SCA Packaging, which it acquired last year, ahead of schedule.
A difficult paper market diluted DS Smith's half year performance, but despite this it posted strong double digit sales and profit growth in its half year results, buoyed by its acquisition of SCA Packaging in June.
DS Smith has forecast its proposed €1.7bn takeover of SCA Packaging will double its annual revenues to more than €4bn (£2.2bn) and hailed the smooth progress of the deal.
